I received the following notice from Bernie Hynes C I Edwardians Secretary this evening;

C.I.Edwardians sadly wish to announce the death of their long-standing question-master Malcolm Bowstead (“Mal”).

He passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 89.

He was never a quizzer himself but presided over the C.I. for many years as QM (with his mate Dud) and will be best remembered for using his gavel to bring proceedings to order.

He will be greatly missed.

Liverpool 2A lead the President's Shield table after four matches, thanks to two good wins on 5 Nov.

Many congratulations to Rob Cruise (Bookworms) on scoring a full house in the win over Ormskirk

The new season will start on Monday 8th September 2025 with the final league match taking place on 2nd March 2026, with 12 teams in each division.

The Pairs and MIMIR competitions were held at APH on Monday 2nd June 2025, and trophies for the season were awarded to the various runners-up and winners.

BBC Two’s Mastermind is currently scouring the UK to find contenders for the next series, which will be filmed in Belfast!

A massive thank you to all of our teams and supporters who turned out for the Liverpool Quiz League Charity Quiz at CTK last night.

Many thanks to Brian Thompson, Keith Clare and Jim Martin who ran a great event and thanks to everyone who attended and gave so generously towards the raffle.

The event raised approximately £900-00 for our chosen charity, The North West Air Ambulance-well done everyone!
