This competition is open to all members of the Liverpool Quiz League, the Winner will receive the Arthur Evans Trophy and will hold the title for a year. The winner of the Arthur Evans Trophy last year was won by Rod Moore of Kluggers.

The Competition and what happens;        

Four players play in each heat.       
Each heat consists of five rounds of three questions to each player.           
Usually, the winning two go on the next round, ending in a final of four players.

The precise make-up of the of the evening depends on how many players take part. 
The top seven go through to the Merseyside heats in March.

A massive thank you to all of our teams and supporters who turned out for the Liverpool Quiz League Charity Quiz at CTK last night.

Many thanks to Brian Thompson, Keith Clare and Jim Martin who ran a great event and thanks to everyone who attended and gave so generously towards the raffle.

The event raised approximately £900-00 for our chosen charity, The North West Air Ambulance-well done everyone!

Full details will be announced closer to the time but it is anticipated that teams will need to arrive for 10am and will be finishing around 7pm with a 90 minute break for lunch.

Entry will once again open to MQL teams first, this will happen on Monday 26th August at 7pm. For all other teams who’ve previously participated, registration will open on Monday 2nd September at 2pm. Should we still have spaces remaining after 9th September we will offer them out to anyone else.

Due to increased costs at our end, the entry fee will now be £100 per team with a 25% discount for any team whose squad includes 3 or more players who regularly play in MQL. All teams will play a guaranteed 8 matches and most will play 9.

The final is now available to watch.  Misfits took on Yorkshire at the end of a fine day's quizzing.

This is looking like being the biggest event of its kind ever in the UK and one of the venues is the Cross Keys, a pub in Liverpool city centre.  There are currently around 15 spaces left available there and it would be great to see those spaces filled with MQL players.

There will be three main quizzes - an Individual written quiz, a team quiz and a special quiz (details to follow).

Amongst the quizzers attending will be members of the Eggheads and Chasers and you could play with them in the team quiz where the teams are drawn at random from all of the entrants.

The cost for the day's quality quizzing is just £5 per head (pay at the door), and food is available in the pub, or there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and sandwich shops within a short walk of the venue.
